Abstract

1,201,920. Boring earth &c. CEMENTATION CO. Ltd. 12 Dec., 1967 [28 Dec., 1966], No. 58021/66. Heading E1F. An adjustable platform assembly supporting earth boring equipment comprises a platform which is raised and lowered to move a boring tool into and out of the ground at a desired inclination, the platform having hydraulically actuated legs 25..28, Fig. 3, at or near four corners with the hydraulic fluid lines to two adjacent legs 27, 28 being interconnected to effect common controlled movement of said legs while movement of the two other legs is independently controllable. Supply and release of fluid to the legs is controlled by electromagnetically-actuated valves 20..23 and movement of the valves is controlled by three electric switches 31..33, Fig. 5, actuable by a pendulum 35 suspended from the platform so as to be vertical at the desired inclination of the platform. Thus, during raising or lowering of the platform any deviation from the desired inclination operates the appropriate switch to stop movement of the appropriate leg or legs until inclination is corrected by continued movement of the other legs.
