Abstract

1,201,768. Apparatus for teaching children to walk. TOM KAREN Ltd. 4 Dec., 1967 [2 Dec., 1966], No. 53983/66. Heading A6M. A table for teaching a child to walk comprises a table top supported on legs and having a hole cut in it, and a flexible seat secured to the back of the hole, and tapering forwardly towards a central front support on the underside of the table top at the front of the hole, the height of the seat and table being such that a child can stand or sit with its feet on the ground, one on either side of the seat, and can propel the table by a walking movement. In Fig. 2, the table top A has a hole in it (C) large enough for a child, and a seat D slung thereunder and held by a strap E fixed at F and F', and the legs of the table are provided with castors for ease of movement, and the legs B are hinged through lugs G, and secured in the position shown by bar H and nut J and bolt J', and may also be folded against the table top A for ease of storage. 2 holes M (Fig. 1) may be made in the table top so that the child may grip the table firmly, and stiffening struts L may be attached to the table top A.
