Abstract
1,200,607. Dispensing liquids. DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc. 28 Nov., 1967 [17 Feb., 1967], No. 54193/67. Heading A4T. In a petrol dispenser having a blend selector 38 whereby a knob on shaft 44 rotates disc 40 carrying pegs 42 between a selected two of which a spring-loaded pawl 52 fully seats when a desired mixture of two basic petrols produced by controlling a valve arrangement is correctly selected, a selector latch 28 linked at 36, 34 to a manual dispenser-activator shaft 32 ensures that the blend cannot be changed when dispensing petrol and petrol cannot be dispensed unless the selector 38 is accurately positioned. After setting selector 38, a computer resetting lever is moved followed by movement of a dispenseractivating lever rotating shaft 32 and the interlock arm 34. If the pawl 52 is not fully positioned between the pegs due to wrong positioning of the pegs, e.g. at A, a pawl flange 60 abuts nose 56 of the arm 34 as shown in dotted lines and prevents the activator shaft 32 being turned from "off" to "on" position. With the pawl fully positioned between the selected pegs, shaft 32 is fully rotated for dispensing and at the same time the hook end of latch 28 moves between the two selected pegs and locks selector 38 against further rotation.
