1,199,868. Cutting apparatus. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 23 Aug., 1968 [23 Aug., 1967], No. 52105/69. Divided out of 1,199,867. Heading B4B. The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 1,199,867 but the claims are directed to a severing device comprising a fixed knife blade 15 and a pivoted knife blade 16 having a shearing surface and so mounted as, in a first position, to have the shearing surface substantially parallel to and laterally offset from the cutting edge and means for urging the knife blade 16 to a second position attained by travelling point contact of the shearing surface relative to the cutting edge in a direction towards the pivot axis 17 of the blade 16.
