Abstract
1,198,397. Automatic exchange systems. SEIMENS A.G. 19 Aug., 1968 [22 Aug., 1967] No. 39556/68. Heading H4K. An impulse repeater or producer comprises an electronic pulse generator and a plurality of electromechanical relays which control the length of and the interval between the pulses emitted by the generator by varying the time constants of various circuits within the generator. The time constants are varied by switching in different resistors into the circuits. In addition to the obvious correction of break/make ratios of the impulses, the relays determine the duration of interdigital pauses, the transmission of seize and disconnect pulses in interexchange signalling and the recognition of start and release pulses at the beginning and end of a call. One such repeater may be connected permanently to a trunk or may be allotted thereto merely during impulse transmission.
