A hand-operated pump for dispensing the contents of a collapsible tube is in the form of a flexible chamber pump, Fig. 3, or a bucket pump, Fig. 12, the collapsible tube 14 being secured to, and reciprocated with, the end wall 78 of the flexible chamber or the bucket 156, reciprocation being effected by a lever 22 pivoted to a casing 12 enclosing or partially enclosing the pump and tube, Figs.2 and 11 (not shown). In Fig. 3, the inlet and discharge valves are formed by resilient strips 96 and 64, discharge taking place through nozzle 68. For filtering tube 14 to the pump, casing 12 is hinged open, Fig. 2 (not shown), lever 22 is moved to an upright position for operating yoke 108 to clear end wall 78, and end wall 78 is removed from chamber wall 70, tube 14 then being secured into end wall 78 and sealed by sleeve 102, and end wall 78 returned to chamber wall 70, where it is held in place by yoke 108. Tube 14 is then squeezed to prime the pumping chamber before the casing is closed. A window in the casing permits viewing of the tube, Fig. 1 (not shown). In Fig. 12, the discharge valve comprises a resilient disc 166 located at its centre by a stem passing through discharge passage 60e, the disc flexing away from the discharge orifice under discharge pressure. In the embodiment of Fig. 15 (not shown), the discharge valve comprises a spring-loaded conical lift valve, and in Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), the discharge valve comprises a resilient nozzle with a slit opened by the discharge pressure. In Fig. 9 (not shown), tubes with nozzles of different sizes are attached to the pump by a collet mechanism with a rubber seal which is compressed on to the tube nozzle.
