Magnetos, driving.-In driving two magnetos for the double ignition of the cylinders of internalcombustion engines, the pinions of the magnetos are rotated from the engine by means of a toothed wheel F which is keyed on a sleeve E rotating on independent ball bearings, and is connected to the engine crank-shaft A through an elastic coupling; by this arrangement, deflections of the crank-shaft and shocks are not transmitted to the magnetos. As shown, the shaft A has a forked head B in which a laminated spring C is fixed. The ends of the spring enter two recesses in the sleeve E. In a modification, the wheel is not keyed upon the sleeve, but is driven by another sleeve connected to the first sleeve by helical keys; the time of sparking may be varied by axial displacement of the second sleeve.
