Abstract

1,195,975. Guillotine cutting machines. VICTORY-KIDDER PRINTING MACHINE CO. Ltd. 24 July, 1967 [25 July, 1966], No. 33942/67. Divided out of 1,195,974. Heading B4B. In a guillotine having a cutting table 2 with a cutting blade movable towards and away from a stack of paper sheets to cut the stack into smaller sheets, and a back stop 8 movable across the cutting table, two lead screws 7 are arranged beneath the cutting table at opposite sides thereof and a nut 9 co-operates with a respective lead screw and is associated with the back stop whereby on rotation of the lead screws the back stop is moved towards or away from the cutting blade depending on the direction of rotation of the lead screws. The lead screws are driven by an electric motor 3 through endless belts 4. A manually-operable wheel 13 keyed on an extension 14 of one of the lead screws permits a final adjustment of the back stop to be made. The cutting blade and a clamp bar 10 are operable by hydraulic mechanisms 19 and 21 respectively. Specification 1,009,377 is referred to.
