Abstract

1,195,772. Walls. E. T. DICKER. 22 Feb., 1968 [28 Feb., 1967; 18 Sept., 1967], No. 8643/68. Heading E1B. In a method of building successive courses of porous sacks of dry concrete are laid upon a foundation 24, and after each course or several courses, water is added and the wetted concrete sets to form a structure, laitance exuding through the pores in the sacks to unite the elements together. The elements are tied together and to the foundation by metal rods or ties 50, 54. A concrete layer 30 is sprayed on after several courses to fill gaps. A concrete floor 80 is cast between opposing walls. Outer and inner facing layers 88, 94, are applied, the latter including service conduits 90. Roof supporting beams, window and door frames are attached to bolts having one end embedded in an element and the opposite end screw-threaded. The size of the units is varied by varying the amount of dry concrete mix in the sack. The term "dry concrete" used in this specification means a dry mixture in particulate form which when liquid is added sets rigid. The sacks of concrete are packaged in water repellant bags for transport.
