Abstract

[Also in Division H3] An arrangement of aircraft instruments comprises a plurality of sensors 11 for sensing aircraft parameters (such as engine oil pressure, engine R.P.M., fuel or oil level) and supplying an electrical signal corresponding to the parameter to an evaluator 12, which generates a control signal for each parameter falling outside a predetermined range, the control signals are passed to a message transmitter 30 which then passes an audio-frequency signal (e.g. a recorded spoken message) to the pilot (e.g. via his headphones 15), the electrical signals of certain selected parameters being passed continuously from the evaluator 12 to a continuously recycling recorder 22. This may be a flight crash recorder with a cycle time of 30 minutes, and may also record what is said on a pilot's interphone 40. The arrangement may also include a maintenance information recorder 16 which is an accumulative recorder, and records the audiofrequency signals, what is said on the pilot's interphone, and signals from a timer 34 recording the time.
