Abstract

1,194,009. Pipe joints. V. ADANI. 5 Sept., 1967 [17 Sept., 1966; 19 Aug., 1967], No. 40434/67. Heading F2G. [Also in Division F4] During the construction of a house and after the installation of the pipework of a central heating system, connections are incorporated in or mounted on the walls, the connections are connected by by-pass pipes to permit the system to be tested and after the completion of the house the by-pass pipes are removed and replaced by radiators. As shown, the connection comprises a box C which is secured to the wall of the room and houses the upper ends of a pair of parallel tubes 6. The lower ends of the latter are connected to the pipework of the system and elbow tubes 7 are urged against their upper ends by screws 9 which permit adjustment of tubes 7 in the horizontal plane. Tubes 7 are connected to the radiator which is housed in a box (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). The connection may alternatively comprise a flange set flush with the wall surface (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown).
