Abstract

1,193,588. Finishing fabrics. FRANZ MULLER. 22 April, 1968 [22 April, 1967], No. 18842/68. Heading D1S. A raising machine for plush fabric comprises a straight edge 11 over which the fabric 1 passes to engage a pile raising roller 15, the edge 11 being so sharp that only one plush row at a time is brought into contact with the roller 15; a pair of feed rollers 8 for the fabric 1; and a delivery roller 20 to engage the base of the fabric so that the fabric is delivered only under the action of its own weight. As shown, the fabric 1 passes over a roller 2, through a guiding and tensioning device 3 adjustable by a lever 5, over a drawing device 6 to a length measuring instrument 7, between the rollers 8 the pressure of which is adjustable by a device 9 and thence to an angled rail 10 having two knife-edges 11, 12 of different edgesharpness and pivotable by a lever 13. The roller 15 is cleaned by a roller 16 and fine threads are removed by a suction device 18. The finished fabric passes around rollers 19, 20, 21 and is laid on a table 23 by a rod 22.
