Abstract

1,193,535. Parallax indicators. KONICA CAMERA CORP. Feb. 13, 1968 [Feb. 17, 1967; Nov. 10, 1967], No. 7155/68. Heading G2A. A twin lens reflex camera having inter-changeable lenses has means for indicating the amount of parallax, which means is visible in the view-finder, and which automatically adjusts itself to the focal length of the particular lens attached. As shown, a viewing lens 2 and taking lens 2<SP>1</SP> are carried on a board 1 mounted on a plate 3. The system can be adjusted axially for focusing by a rack and pinion arrangement 4, 5. A pin 9 is secured to the board 1, and against the pin rests one end 7 of a cam 6 which is attached to the plate 3 by a pivot 8. A lever 10 is pivoted to the camera body at 12, and spring-urged so that a pin 11 at its lower end bears against a bar portion of cam 6, so holding the cam firmly against pin 9. The slotted upper end of lever 10 slidably engages a needle 14 which is visible in the viewing screen 13 and indicates the amount of parallax. As the lenses are moved axially for focusing adjustment, cam 6 causes corresponding movement of pin 11 and lever 10, and hence of indicator needle 14. When board 1 is replaced by another board carrying lenses 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of a different focal length, the pin 9 has a correspondingly different length, so giving cam 6 a different inclination. Fig. 3 (not shown) is a modification in which the parallax indicator is a frame sliding parallel to the plane of the viewing screen.
