Abstract

1,193,000. Junction boxes. A. C. LOCKYER. 26 June, 1968, No. 30458/68. Heading H2E. '[Also in Division E1] Hollow electrical fittings, e.g. a conduit box 2, are provided with removable flexible plastics inserts 1 which are used to plug the fittings when concrete, e.g. is cast around them in, e.g. a ceiling. The inserts may have grooves, e.g. 4, 5 to allow the inserts to be fitted into fittings with lugs 7, 8 or other internal projections, and have rims, e.g. 6 to locate the inserts, and are tapered from the rims to facilitate removal. An insert is fixed to shuttering before the concrete, e.g. is vibrated, the fitting being fixed over the insert, and after the concrete has set the insert is removed from the fitting either with, or after the removal of the shuttering.
