Abstract

1,192,343. Electric shavers. R. ANTRETTER. 20 Jan., 1969 [1 Feb., 1968], No. 3101/69. Heading B4B. An electric shaver comprises a body housing 10, and a detachable cutter head housing 12 carrying a short-hair cutter head 16 comprising knife blades 22 co-operating with a part-cylindrical screen 20, and is characterized in having a long-hair cutter head unit 18 detachably located alongside the short-hair cutter head 16, the unit 18 comprising blades 82 driven by an oscillated lever 94 to co-operate with an outer comb 70. The unit 18 is retained in a guide well 24 by engagement of portions 54 of leaf springs 36 over wall protrusions 56, a finger piece 28 being provided for removal. An element 76 bearing the blades 82 is held in engagement with the comb 70 by balls 84 acted on by the other ends 52 of the springs 36. The lever 94, formed of resilient material, e.g. plastics, and oscillated by a motor 14, Fig. 2, engages between upstanding lugs 106 formed in the lower web 78 of the element 76. The element 76 may be withdrawn for cleaning, lugs 90, 92 ensuring correct replacement.
