Abstract

1,191,920. Toilet seat assembly. SWEDISH CRICIBLE STEEL CO. 12 Dec., 1967 [8 Sept., 1967], No. 56337/67. Heading E2F. A toilet seat assembly, adaptable to various positions and separations of stud holes in a toilet bowl platform to which the seat is to be attached, comprises seat 14 provided with coaxial hinge pin openings 25 and 27, hinge posts 20, each of which is provided with a hinge pin 28 which projects laterally from the head of the hinge post and which is pivotally received in one of the hinge pin openings, each hinge post being further provided with a recess 38 in the bottom thereof and with a screw-threaded pivot socket 42, 44 and pivot studs 50, each of which comprises an elongated screw-threaded shank 52 for engagement with a stud hole 22 in the toilet bowl platform, the shank having an arm 54 which extends laterally from the top of the shank and which is located within the recess in the hinge post, and an upstanding screwthreaded pivot boss 56 on the arm offset laterally away from the shank and in screw-threaded pivotal engagement with the pivot socket, whereby the hinge posts are movable relatively to one another round the shanks of their respective pivot studs as pivots.
