Abstract
1,191,892. Electrophotographic plate. RANK XEROX Ltd. 24 May, 1967 [31 May, 1966], No. 24124/67. Heading H1K. [Also in Division G2] A plate for use in an electrophotographic process comprises a conductive substrate (e.g. a metal plate, NESA glass or tin oxide coated paper or film) having coated thereon a photoconductive softenable layer which is overcoated with a layer of inert particles or with a fracturable layer capable of forming such particles. The particles may be of TiO 2 , Fe, BaSO 4 , C, iron oxide, phthalocyanine or polymers. The photo-conductive layer may comprise an organic photoconductor in a resin, a soluble photo-conductive polymer or a charge transfer complex of an aromatic resin and a Lewis acid. The photo-conductor may be dye-sensitized.
