Abstract
1,191,426. Rotary-piston pumps and motors. FRIED. KRUPP G.m.b.H. Aug. 30, 1968 [Sept. 2, 1967], No. 41561/68. Heading F1F. In a rotary-piston hydraulic pump, or motor, a vane 25, Fig. 3, is lodged slidably in a radial slot 24 within a housing 20 for the piston 21, which is of non-circular profile, the vane carrying spring-loaded packing-strips 28, 35 engaging with the piston and spring-loaded packing-strips 33 in the ends of the housing, respectively. Springs (not shown) or hydrostatic pressure in the slot 24 bias the vane towards the piston. The piston is situated in a cylindrical bore in the housing. The strips 28, 35 may be rendered integral with one another, Fig. 4 (not shown). Alternatively, when the vane is biased by hydrostatic pressure in the slot 24 the packing strips are loaded by said pressure, to which end bores 40, 41 are formed in the vane and packing strips 38 that replace the strips 35 and contain grooves 39 communicating with a slot 29 for the strip 28. Gaps 42 and bevels 43 hydrostatically connect the inner parts of grooves 32 for the strips 33 with the grooves 39. An arrangement of packing strips generally similar to that according to Fig. 4 may be provided for each of several axially-movable vanes 57, Fig. 7, lodged in an annular web 55 in a housing for a pair of annular members 52 fixed to a rotary shaft 50 and having sinusoidal profiles at the surfaces thereof abutting the strips 28.
