[Also in Division H2] In an arrangement for protecting against short-circuiting at the erosion gap 2 of a sparkerosion machine having a low-voltage power source and a low-power ignition source supplied by transistors (not shown) under the control of a master oscillator 13, a drop in voltage across the gap 2 causes a transistor 15 to conduct to cut off a transistor 16. This blocks a diode 22 and causes an oscillator 20 to oscillate and charge a capacitor 26 until a transistor 27 conducts to stop the oscillation of the master oscillator 13. Reconnection of the machine may be effected by recharging a capacitor 17 to cut-off the transistor 15.
