Abstract

1,190,489. Suitcase handles; garment hangers. ECRIM. 13 June, 1968 [13 June, 1967], No. 28165/68. Headings A4G and A4U. [Also in Division B8] A case of plastics &c. comprises two compartments 2, 3 hinged to a rigid base 4, at least one of the compartments having a hook 19 and each having holes &c. 9, 10 to form a handle and being so shaped that the closed case assumed the partial shape of a clothes hanger. A retractable clothes hanging bar 24 arranged parallel to the base 4 has arms 23 frictionally mounted in peripheral washers in holes at the ends of tubular bosses 26, 26 formed in the base. The peripheral edge of one of the compartments may have a strip of flexible material which is compressible to seal the gap between the closed compartments. A catch 17 and button 16 or a lock and key may be provided to secure the compartments together. The hook 19 may be fixed on a pivot 18 and be rotatable into an aperture formed by recesses 21, 22 in the edges of the compartments. Straps may be provided for each compartment.
