Abstract
1,190,259. Rotors for rotorcraft. BOLKOW G.m.b.H. 22 Nov., 1967 [1 July, 1967], No. 53255/67. Heading B7W. A rigid rotor for a rotorcraft comprises a rotor head 1 having bearing sleeves 4 in each of which is mounted rotatably for pitch change a rotor shank sleeve 5 rigidly attached to a rotor blade 8, the sleeve 5 having an outwardly facing shoulder 10 against which rests a clamping device 9 which undergoes pitch change movement with the sleeve 5, and to which is secured a laminated tension bar 11, the other end of which is secured to an element 12 mounted in the rotor head coaxial with the axis of rotation of the rotor. Where there are an even number of blades, at least four, the laminations of the tension bar from one blade may extend to the clamping unit of the opposite blade. The laminations of one tension bar may alternate with those of the other bars at the centre of the rotor head, where each lamination may be separated from the next by a low friction layer, e.g. a foil of P.T.F.E. Each blade may have a pitch change horn 18 for attachment to a known control rod and swash plate pitch change mechanism.
