Abstract

1,190,102. Printing processes. RANK XEROX Ltd. 24 May, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 24120/67. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] Lithographic printing masters are produced by imagewise exposing a photo- or thermochromic material and developing the exposed areas with an aqueous based ink (see Division G2). The ink contains a major proportion of water and a minor proportion of an organic solvent and may also contain a water-soluble, hydrophilic polymer, such as gelatine, casein, starch, cellulose ethers and esters, polyacrylic acid and its salts, alginic acid and its salts, maleic anhydride copolymers, polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl pyrollidone. Positive or negative printing masters may be produced depending on the exposure (see Division G2).
