Abstract

1,189,901. Reciprocating pumps. MARYLAND CUP CORP. June 1, 1967, No.25382/67. Heading F1A. The pistons 50 of a dispensing pump on a container filling machine are connected to a yoke 46 on a rod 43 reciprocated by a rod 38 carrying a roller 36 engaged in a cam groove 35 on a member 30 driven through gears 34, 25. A face cam comprising angularly adjustable members 91, 92, whereby a variable angle of lift may be pre-set, is mounted on the end of the drive shaft 31 and is engageable with a pivoted lever 84 the other end of which carries a tappet 86 for actuating a valve rod 83 secured to a yoke carrying an inlet valve 67 and an outlet valve 55 controlling flow from each pump cylinder to outlet nozzles 64. By adjusting the members 91, 92 the inlet valve is opened during the delivery stroke to regulate the delivery.
