Abstract

1,188,547. Articulated vehicles. HOSVEIS OG BOFA A.S. 15 June, 1967, No. 27617/67. Heading B7H. An articulated vehicle comprises two axles 2, 8 relatively pivotable about a vertical articulation axis 10, two identical gear-boxes 3, 7 coupled by the articulation and coupled to respective axles and power transmission and operating mechanisms for simultaneous drive and operation of both gear-boxes, a motor 6 being mounted on one of the gear-boxes and arranged to drive both gear-boxes. The vehicle is preferably symmetrically constructed of two units as used in agricultural tractors but without steerable wheels, the motor 5 of one unit at least being moved to form the motor 6 and if desired the other motor 14 may be mounted on the other gear-box 7. The gear-boxes are drivingly connected by a power transmission 11 and operatively connected by a link with a coupling 13 on the pivot axis 10.
