Abstract

1,188,449. Fusible cut-outs. LUCIEN FERRAZ & CIE. 18 Dec., 1968 [26 Dec., 1967], No. 60056/68. Heading H2G. A fuse cartridge 1 (half of which is shown in Fig. I) has a striker member 9 disposed in a chamber 1 therein and an auxiliary contact mechanism 15 (e.g. a micro-switch) held in a carrier member 14 and operable by the striker member, a seal 14a being provided between member 14 and cartridge 1 to prevent the flow of hot gases issuing past striker member 9, when the fuse blows, from travelling along the outer surface of the carridge to metallic heads 2. The seal 14 may be carried in a slidable spring- pressed ring (18, Fig. 2, not shown). The striker member 9 may be held in position against a spring 10 by an auxiliary fuse wire 8.
