Abstract

1,188,397. Advertizing on vehicle wheels. A. L. ROBINSON. 11 Dec., 1967, No. 56244/67. Heading G5C. In a vehicle wheel assembly comprising a fixed threaded axle 11 about which rotates a hub 12, there is provided an attachment for holding a plate 35 bearing advertizing material, comprising a sealing ring 31 pressed against hub 12 by a stepped annular disc 32, 33 and secured by a nut 21, the nut being substantially surrounded by a flanged support member 23 having means 27 on its end wall 24 for securing plate 35. As described, the ring 31 is bonded to the disc 32, 33, and the nut 21 and member 23 secured by a cotter pin 30. The sealing ring may be mounted within the hub (Fig. 6, not shown), and in a further modification the carrier plate and annular disc are axially adjustable by means of a clamping-screws-and-slots arrangement, the cotter pin 30 being replaced by a protuberance (55) on the annular disc engaging a keyway in the axle, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown).
