Abstract

1,188,357. Delivering sheets. GARTEMANN & HOLLMANN G.m.b.H. 18 May, 1967 [31 Aug., 1966], No. 23077/67. Heading B8R. [Also in Division B5] Bags are stacked in a carriage 28, which moves gradually downwards as the stack is formed, by belts 30, 31 which pivot downwardly with the stack. When a photo-cell counter 27 has counted a full bag batch the bottom of the cage 25 slides apart to drop the stack of bags on an intermittently moving conveyer 37 and the belts 30, 31 pivot downwardly to continue to deliver bags to the stack. Before the conveyer 37 starts to move the belts 30, 31 are pivoted upwardly to deliver again to the cage 25 which has been raised and is falling (momentarily) into its initial stacking position. In an alternative construction the bags are stacked on a grid (50), (Fig. 6, not shown), which is subsequently moved down to transfer the stack to a further grid (37a) and is then retracted laterally for restoration to its initial position. The second grid (37a) is subsequently lowered to deposit the stack on a roller conveyer. Two stacking machines as described above may feed stacks to a single baling machine (Fig. 4, not shown), disposed between and parallel to them and fed by a single reversible conveyer from each stacking machine in turn.
