Abstract

1,188,155. Dry release transfers. P. B. READINGS. 18 Sept., 1968 [21 June, 1967], No. 28624/67. Heading B6C. A method of producing a dry release transfer material comprises providing a carrier sheet which is, or has been treated or coated so as to be, hydrophilic in character; printing medium thereon employing ink which is hydropholic in character; moistening the surface of the printed carrier sheet and applying thereover an oleophillic pressure sensitive adhesive. The carrier sheet may be an abraded polyester film or a superficially saponified celluse acetate film. The hydrophillic coating may be an aqueous solution containing gum arabic or gelatine. The ink may be a greasy film forming ink whilst the pressure sensitive adhesive may comprise polyisobutylene polymer, a stabilized rosin glycerol ester and a condensation product of cyclohexanone in petroleum.
