[Also in Division E2] A device for counterbalancing the weight of an upwardly-acting door comprises a pair of relatively rotatable shafts 17, 18 rotatably supported on the door frame 19 by brackets 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25; a cable drum 34, 53 securely fastened to each shaft and having a cable 37, 55 wound thereon and fastened to the door; means 66 interconnecting the shafts 17 and 18 for limiting the relative rotation of the shafts; and torsion springs 38, 45 connected to the shafts 17 and 18 by lock collars 35, 62, and the frame 19 by brackets 22 and 25, for opposing rotation of the shafts in a direction for unwinding the cables.
