Abstract

A turnstile comprises a rotary barrier fixed on the shaft (9) associated with two constraining means (16,17), each of which, when operable, allows the barrier to rotate only in one sense, each constraining means controlling opposite senses of rotation, the arrangement being such that, when both constraining means are operable, the rotary barrier is prevented from rotation. <IMAGE>
