Abstract

1,187,925. Hand held shower unit. DAHL BROS. Ltd. 27 Nov., 1968 [13 Feb., 1968], No. 7151/68. Heading A4N. [Also in Division F2] A hand held shower unit for connection to a water tap includes a float valve 14 for preventing soiled water syphoning back into the supply pipe, the float valve being disposed in a chamber 13 in the water supply line to the shower head (1) and arranged so that it drops to open the chamber 13 to atmosphere through a vent 18 when the water supply pressure falls. The chamber 13 which is formed in a part 10 of a nest (4) for the shower head (1) has an inlet port 15 in the bottom of the chamber which admits water from the water supply. An outlet port 17 on one side of the chamber communicates with a flexible pipe (3) leading to the shower head. In normal use water flows through the chamber, the float 14 is lifted and a diaphragm 20 carried by the float seals the vent 18. In its lowermost position, legs 22 space the float from the inlet port 15.
