Abstract

1,187,418. Delivering sheets. CAMERON MACHINE CO. 27 Nov., 1967 [29 Nov., 1966], No. 53798/67. Heading B8R. Sheets carried by high speed tapes 10 and 11 may be selectively diverted by switch 22 to tapes 18 and 20 driven initially at the same speed as tapes 10 and 11 but slowed down on the reception of a sheet to deposit the same in layby 34. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), tapes 18 and 20 are driven at the same speed as tapes 10 and 11 and the trailing edges of sheets passing between tapes 18 and 20 are engaged by a suction device to allow the leading edge of the succeeding deflected sheet to overlap. A suction device 13 may be provided to overlap undeflected sheets.
