Abstract

1,021,118. Feeding sheets. J. E. THOMPSON. March 26, 1964 [Jan. 16, 1964], No. 2061/64. Heading B6B. A sheet registering device comprises parallel endless belts 1 for feeding a sheet, abutment means 5 for temporarily arresting the leading edge of the sheet, a side lay 2 (not shown) against which one side edge of the sheet may be registered, and rotating suction means 7 for moving the sheet into engagement with the abutment means and side lay. The suction means comprise one or more rotating apertured discs 8. Each disc 8 is mounted above a stationary disc 9. The suction is applied to the disc 8 through a radial slot in the disc 9. The angular position of the slot is adjustable. The front stop may comprise several depending fingers secured to a cross-shaft arranged above the belts 1.
