Abstract

1,187,142. Laminated material for diving suits. M. F. PIEL. 31 Jan., 1967 [31 Jan., 1966], No. 4725/67. Heading B5N. [Also in Division B7] A laminate comprises two impermeable and elastic sheets 10 and 11 in parallel with an insertion space between them which contains an interposed material 12 attached to the sheets, the material 12 permitting admission of a fluid into the insertion space and keeping the sheets parallel when the pressure of the fluid tends to force them apart. In the embodiments described the interposed material is fastened adhesively to the sheets and is either a material of cellular structure with communicating cells, a foam having density less than 0À1, or a knitted elastic fabric or is a material comprising two parallel layers of elastic fabric sewn to each other, Fig. 2, by seams forming a plurality of connections.
