Abstract

1,186,666. Electric motors. DANFOSS A/S. 1 May, 1968 [9 May, 1967], No. 20652/68. Heading H2A. [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] Pumping apparatus for fuel-oil includes an A.C. induction motor having separate rotor parts 5, 8 coupled by shafts 6, 9 to an air-blower 7 and a rotary positive-displacement oil-pump 10, respectively, a valve (50), Fig. 2 (not shown), being opened by axial displacement of the part 8 and shaft 9 due to a compression spring 30 whenever the motor is switched off so as to reduce residual oil pressure in the pump. When the motor is switched on, movement of the part 8 and shaft 9 to close the valve is effected by forces tending to cause magnetic centring of said part, which may be facilitated by tapering the air gap between this part and the stator 1. The valve may be constituted by a portion 31 of the shaft 9 and a bearing bush 14. Excepting a region within a cup-shaped element 19, the interior of the motor is filled with oil.
