Abstract

1,185,244. Twisting the ends of wrappers. UKRAINSKY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY I KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT PRODOVOLSTVENNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA. 27 June, 1967, No. 29672/67. Heading B8C. Jaws 4, Fig. 1, for effecting a twist closure, are mounted on a rotatable shaft 1 which is carried inside a casing 11 reciprocated through the engagement of cam follower 14 in a cam-track 22. The operation of the jaws is effected through a spring-biased rod 7 reciprocated under the action of a lever 17 which is pivoted about an axis 16 and oscillated by a cam 23. In operation, a shaft 20, upon which cams 22, 23 are mounted, rotates to drive the shaft 1 through intermediate gearing and to open, close and reciprocate the jaws.
