[Also in Division F4] An air purifier comprises a chamber in which an electric field is provided between a metal plate 2 and a screen 5 over which water trickles to remove the impurities in the air into a tank 8, a pump 9 raising the water into a reservoir 10. Air is drawn in by means of a fan 1. The device may be arranged so that the screen lies approximately horizontal. The screen may be replaced by an endless conveyer which conveys water past the plate 2. In a further modification an electrode is provided in the centre of the chamber and water is arranged to trickle over the peripheral walls of the chamber.
