Abstract
<PICT:1119913/C6-C7/1> An electrolytic cell, e.g. a chlor-alkali diaphragm cell, is supported by an elongated support member 12 (Fig. 1, bottom plan view), which is positioned under and connected, e.g. through a spacer (24) with the cell bottom 10 and has thereunder a central leg 16, and by two additional legs 18, 20 positioned apart under the cell bottom. The cell bottom may be of concrete or stainless or nickel or other steel, preferably coated with after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, P.T.F.E. or ceramic the legs 16-20 may be of wood, stone, concrete or metal (preferably insulated from cell bottom by rubber, plastic, wood, stone or concrete). The support member is preferably of ferrous metal or alloy, e.g. mild steel.
