Abstract
1,184,553. Pipe joints. ASSOCIATED SPRAYERS Ltd. 25 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 23334/66. Heading F2G. [Also in Division F1] In a pressure-operated appliance, e.g. an insecticide sprayer, a flexible discharge tube (4), Fig. 1 (not shown), is anchored in the container wall by inserting into the tube bore a rigid annulus 10, Fig. 2 having an external diameter greater than the diameter of the bore so as to form a local circumferential swelling 9 around the tube and passing the tube from the container interior through a wall or grommet opening having a diameter less than the swelling until the swelling engages the periphery of the opening. In other embodiments the ring has a single chamfer on its periphery or has a periphery having a cylindrical part merging with a frusto-conical part.
