[Also in Division H5] In an electroslag metal remelting installation including a consumable main electrode 50, a cooled mould 10, and an auxiliary electrode 110 for maintaining heat in the molten metal during the process of exchanging the main electrode 50, the transport devices for the auxiliary electrode and/or the mould and the main electrode are arranged separately from each other. The mould 10 and mould lifting truck 20 are displaceable vertically on a stationary column 30. The mould 10 is cooled by water flowing through a flexible hose 140, pipe 141, and channels 15, 22; located in the arm 21 of the mould lifting truck 20, as well as in the side wall 14 of the mould, the water passing into the hollow space 13 between the outer and inner mould jackets 12, 11. As soon as the cooling water has flowed through this space 13 from the top downwardly, it is withdrawn via an external duct 16, Fig. 1, and channels 18 and 24 in the jacket 12 and in the side wall 17 of the mould, as well as in the arm 23 of truck 20, the pipe 142 and the flexible hose 143.
