Abstract

An article having a rough inner surface to which a foam can readily adhere is produced by rotational casting of a first plasticized vinyl chloride polymer composition, while heating to cause initial gelation, i.e. formation of a solid skin, of the first composition and adding a second vinyl chloride polymer composition of particle size 0À5-2À0 mm. rotating and heating the mould to complete gelation of the first plasticized composition. The second composition preferably has a K-value at least 5% higher than that of the first, preferably 60-80, is in an amount 20-40% by wt of the first, and is added at a temperature 10-15‹ C. less than that at which the complete gelation is effected. The compositions, which may be in powder form or pastes, may comprise polyvinyl chloride or a vinyl chloride copolymer e.g. with vinyl acetate. A foam material e.g. polyurethane, polyether or polyester may be applied to the rough inner surface of the article.
