1,184,089. Viscosity measurement. INSTITUT FUR LACKE UND FARBEN. May 17, 1967, No. 22868/67. Heading G1S. A space comprising chamber 1 and tube 7 is evacuated and sealed off by magnetic valve 8 so that fluid under test is drawn up through capillary tube 4. The resulting face in pressure lowers the Hg level in manometer 10 and the time to pass between electrical contacts 12 and 11 is measured, this being rotated to the arrival of a given volume of test fluid in chamber 1. Contacts also control valves 8 and 9, the latter acting to pressurize chamber 1 to drive the fluid out, and the arrangement provided for automatic and repeated determination of viscosity at short intervals of time.
