Abstract

1,183,972. Brackets. J. M. D. DE NIET. 17 May, 1968 [30 May, 1967], No. 24795/67. Addition to 1,089,325. Heading A4B. In the bracket 13 clamped to a dovetail projection 12 of a channel section upright 11, as in Figs. 1 and 2 of the parent, the tongues (19) are replaced by a wire spring 40, Fig. 1, provided with a portion 41 overlying a portion 16A of the adjustable jaw 16, portions 43 engaging shoulders 21 of jaw 16 and hooks 46 engaged about the clamping screws 17, so as to press jaw 16 against the bracket and to urge it towards the fixed jaw (14). Screws 17 are mounted in sheet metal housing 18A welded to bracket 13 and provided with U-portions penetrated by the screws 17. Within each U-portion, the hook 46 presses a square nut on the screw against the side wall of the U-portion. The ends of a shelf 54, Fig. 3, are each secured to a bracket 13 by a plastics edge trim 50 screwed to the shelf and a plastics clip 57 making a friction fit on a dovetail 56 of the trim and snap fitting into a recess 60A in a flange 60 of the bracket.
