Abstract

1,129,635. False ceilings. E. O. V. EKMAN, B.- BRUNDIN and C. O. A. EKMAN [trading as LICENTIA, EKMAN & BRUNDIN]. 7 April, 1966 [12 April, 1965], No. 15675/66. Heading E1W. A sheet 4 of plastics foil is held stretched within a frame surrounding a room to form a false ceiling by the engagement of a border of Ithe sheet within a longitudinal channel in the frame facing into the room. which channel is formed with a shoulder 13 facing the base of the channel, the border being of resilient plastics material and having in use, a U-shaped cross-section with an upper thinner flange 5 fixed to the sheet 4 and with a lower thicker flange 6 the free edge of which engages the shoulder 13. Tension of the sheet 4 causes the border to tilt in the channel so that the base of its U-section wedges against the upper wall 10 of the channel. The border may be of a preformed U-section or may be bent into U-form when inserted into the channel. The thickness of the free edge of the flange 6 may be greater than the height of the shoulder 13 to enable a pointed tool to be engaged with the flange 6 in order to disengage the border from the slot to dismantle the ceiling. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,008,531.
