Abstract

1,183,752. Masted lift trucks. H.R. HALDIMANN. 28 March, 1967 [29 March, 1966], No. 13981/67. Heading B8H. A pallet transfer attachment for a lift truck comprises a platform 10 mounted on the lifting fork 8 and supporting a support 9 for movement towards either side of the truck, the support being provided with a pair of driven endless belts 11 for engagement with a pallet in a storage rack. In operation, the lifting carriage is positioned adjacent a selected storage rack, the support 9 is moved laterally to insert ramp-like end portions of the support below the load-supporting surface of the pallet 3. The fork is then raised slightly to bring the belts 11 into engagement with the underside of the load-supporting surface of the pallet. The belt drive is then actuated to draw the pallet on to the platform 10, wheels 4 of the pallet running on tracks 2 in the storage rack and on guides 12 on the platform 10. The belts may be replaced by rollers.
