Abstract

1,183,309. Discharge tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 Jan., 1969 [27 Jan., 1968], No. 4093/69. Heading H1D. In a discharge tube comprising a cathode, a grid and an anode 4 in which the side of the anode 4 facing the cathode has elongate partitions 5 secured thereto by a long side and which are cured to reduce secondary electron emission from the anode, the other long side of each partition 5 is provided with a slot 6 therein to reduce deformation of the partition due to heating. As shown, partitions 5 are U-shaped and are welded to the anode 4, and the slots 6 are provided at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the partitions.
