Abstract
1,182,409. Foundry ladles. SOC. DES ACIERIES DE PARIS ET D'OUTREAU. 11 Nov., 1968 [23 Nov., 1967], No. 53262/68. Heading F4B. A cast-steel slag ladle having supporting trunnions 5 comprises a part-spherical bottom 1 merging into a frusto-conical portion 2 formed with a reinforcing bead 3 at its upper edge, another, circular bead 4 of substantially the same thickness but lesser height than the bead 3 surrounding the ladle at level of the trunnions, and vertical reinforcing ribs 7 extending at spaced intervals from the bead 4 on either side thereof to merge into the bead 3 and the partspherical bottom portion 2. The trunnions each have an integrally cast flange 19 which is fastened by studs 16 along its vertical edges to two of the vertical ribs 8, 9 and the flange has a barrel-shaped inner face to provide a gap between the flange and ladle for the passage of a cooling air current. The ladle has integrally cast supporting legs 19 with machined supporting surfaces 20.
