Abstract

1,180,756. Fluid-pressure indicators. HONEYWELL Ltd. Sept.5, 1968 [Sept.13, 1967], No.41769/67. Heading G1L. In a fluid-pressure indication a piston, provided with two separate and visually distinct parts 8, 9, is moved in a cylinder, closed at both ends 2, 3, by the difference in fluid-pressure supplied to the cylinder by inlets 4, 5, and depending upon the direction of piston movement one or other of the parts 8, 9 is visible through a transparent aperture 6 in the cylinder wall. The halves of the 8, 9 of the piston can be separated by fluidpressure supplied through an inlet 15 to check if the device is working correctly. In a further embodiment Figs. 2A, 2B (not shown) the cylinder and piston are provided with symbols to indicate the direction of fluid-flow in a pipe system in which the indicator is inserted.
