Abstract

1,180,375. Masted lift trucks. CROWN CONTROLS CORP. 15 Nov., 1968 [22 Dec., 1967], No. 54441/68. Heading B8H. Three rigidly connected hydraulic ram cylinders 36, 42 are supported in triangular relationship on the movable mast section 30 of a lift truck mast assembly. The hollow piston-rod 37 of the central cylinder is connected to the frame 10, and the piston-rods 50 of the other ram cylinders support rollers lying in substantially perpendicular vertical planes. chains 60, extending between anchorages on the cylinders 42 and on the lifting carriage 65, passing over the rollers. The anchorages on the lifting carriage lie in a vertical transverse plane passing through the axis of the central cylinder 36. The three cylinders are interconnected hydraulically, the arrangement being such that on supplying pressure fluid to the base of the hollow piston-rod 37, the side rams 40 extend to raise the lifting carriage relative to the movable mast section before the central ram extends to raise the movable mast section.
