Abstract

A document folder or portfolio, Fig) 1, made from a blank of a transparent sheet of plastics material by folding the blank front and rear covers 1, 9, Fig. 2, respectively, and closing the lower marginal edge adjacent the spine by folding and thermowelding an integral flap 10 along seams 11, 12 to define an index tab 8, is provided with a first cardboard index strip 15, folded about a median line and provided with an aperture 16 to display a second one of a plurality of coloured plastics index strips 17 disposed between the folded index strip 15, which is retained in the pocket of the index tab 8. In a modification the index tab 3, Fig. 1, is formed by thermowelding a strip of transparent plastics material to the front cover 1 along seams 4 and providing the folded cardboard strip 5 with a rectangular window 6, through which is displayed one of a plurality of coloured index strips 17. In a further modification a windowed index tab 23 (Fig. 3) which is mounted slidably on the suspension bar of a suspension file is provided with a folded cardboard index strip 25, having an aperture 26 through which is displayed one of the coloured secondary index strips.
